ARTISTS

I've always wanted Choir On The Green to be a about community. Not just local choir members but also a community of artists and friends. The mixture of amateurs and pros makes it a special place for music.  On this page you can see a few of the growing community of artists, who have joined us at rehearsals, gigs, online sessions.  Any musicians keen to get involved, please do get in touch.  The choir LOVE discovering and supporting new music

JESS

FOLLEY

Winner of The Voice Kids in 2016 and X-Factor The Band in 2019, Jess is not only one of the most talented young artist you could wish to meet, she's also one of the kindest and hardest working.

She first sang with Choir On The Green in the summer of 2016, the same summer she appeared on ITV's The Voice Kids.  It was the night of our summer party when she won the whole thing with this performance.  She was only 14 years old.

Later that year Jess joined us for performances at St Clement Danes Church in London and at our own Christmas Concert at Ashlyns Chapel in Berkhamsted.  Here's her singing with us at our soundcheck...

In the following years, whilst still in school doing her GCSEs she released music online and grew a large fan base on social media.  She was spotted by X-Factor who invited her to audition for X-Factor the band in 2019, and unsurprisingly she won again, making her the only person to have won series of both X-Factor and The Voice. All this and she was still only 16 years old.  Here's why Simon Cowell was so impressed...

The following week, Jess's media commitments were huge, but she took time to come and sing for Choir On The Green's Christmas Concert raising money for Chiltern Music Therapy.  Not only that, but she declined the fee she was offered as she wanted the charity to have more money.

Jess is now part of girl band Real Like You.  She's also on all social media individually too, so please give her a follow and support her in what promises to be an amazing career.

MATT

CARDLE

Matt won the biggest ever series of X Factor back in 2010 and went on to sell over a million copies of his debut single, which was a UK Christmas number one.  In 2011, he recruited Choir's Musical Director Paul Bullen, to lead his band for live shows, TV shows and tours.  The first tour culminated in this televised performance at Koko in Camden...

After many more years touring together, in 2015 Matt and Paul took on other projects as Matt accepted his first West End lead role in the musical Memphis and Paul launched Choir On The Green.  Matt's success lead to further roles in Strictly Ballroom and Jesus Christmas Superstar.   In 2019 Matt popped in to visit Choir On The Green and enjoyed it so much, he agreed to perform for us at Christmas to help us raise money for Chiltern Music Therapy.

In 2020 before the Coronavirus lockdown Matt came and gave us a private gig.  We're really grateful to him.  Please go check out Matt's music and follow and support his career.

AZU

YECHÉ

Azu is a best friend of choir.  He's sung with us at numerous shows and often pops into rehearsals to say hi and have a sing with us.

He's been played on BBC Radio 1 and 2 and has toured as support act for artists such as Lemar and Gabrielle.  His music is a mixture of easy listening soul, pop and folk with subtle African influences.  A favourite song of choir's is Lagos, which talks about him moving away from his family in Nigeria, after a traumatic family event...

He first came to sing with the choir back in 2017.  Since then he's performed with us at our Christmas and summer concerts and he's also hosted two packed out shows for the Choir and their families and friends.

Azu immensely appreciates the support choir members show, listening to his music and coming to his shows... and the choir appreciate Azu's warmth and friendship over the years.  If you don't already, please show him some love and go like his social media pages and listen to his music.

BEGLEY

Andrea won the second ever series of The Voice in the UK and her subsequent album went top 10.  She has one of the purest most beautiful voices you could wish to hear and we're so lucky to call her a friend of the choir.

After winning The Voice, she toured with Choir's Musical director Paul doing some beautiful shows around England and Northern Ireland.

In the subsequent years Andrea and Paul stayed in touch and in 2019 she flew over from her home in Belfast, to sing at the Choir on The Green Christmas Concerts.

Andrea has recently released her 2nd album.  Many of the choir own and love this album, but if you don't own it yet, please go check it out!

Erin
Lecount

Erin was a finalist on The Voice Kids back in 2017. Her beautifully fragile tone and heartfelt performances caught the attention of McFly's Danny Jones who became her mentor. She also met Jess Folley on the show and the two became close friends.

In 2019 Jess and Choir on The Green director Paul wrote a song for Erin and invited her to the studio to duet it...

In the subsequent years Erin has developed into a brilliantly exiting artist and just the most wonderful person. We're lucky to call her a friend at choir.

In 2022 when concerts finally resumed after Covid, Erin kindly gave up her time to sing at The Choir Christmas Concert, donating her entire fee to local charities Chiltern Music Therapy and Open Door Berkhamsted.  It was so incredibly kind of her.  Artists like Erin deserve all the success in the world, but need the support of people like you. Please find her Social Media pages and give her a follow. Here's her performing her 2022 single "Killing Time".

LUKE

BURR

Luke is one of the most talented, hard working up and coming artists in the UK.  In 2020 during the Coronavirus lockdown, Choir On The Green were grateful to Luke for dropping in to give us our first ever online rehearsal performance!

Luke's soulful music is inspired by artists such as Luther Vandross, George Benson, Stevie Wonder and John Legend.  Here's a little taster...

In 2019 his following rapidly grew after his music was featured on the hit TV series Love Island.  Here he is that week being interviewed on Good Morning Britain.

In 2020 when the lockdown began, Luke really kindly came and sung a couple of songs to the choir at an online rehearsal session.  The fact he made the effort says a lot about the kind of artist he is.  Please show your support by following his social media pages and checking out his latest music.
