St Albans Abbey - Concert for Hospice

TIMINGS

1:00pm: Call Time. Meet at The Welcome Centre. Please walk in (or drop off) via the Sumpter Yard entrance (See attached map!), and we’ll meet at the Welcome Centre. If you can’t get there for 1pm, please let me know via WhatsApp and I’ll make sure someone can find you whenever you arrive. 

1:00pm: Soundcheck (25 mins): (Choir Stalls in The Nave - See Floor Plan) Yes our soundcheck time is the same as the call time. As soon as we’re allowed in the cathedral, we’ll soundcheck.  If we run out of time, then we’ll just cope. Heck who needs a soundcheck anyway, right?! We’re awesome. We’ll be fine. 

2:15pm: Doors open for audience arrivals 

2.50pm: Choir into position (Choir stalls in the nave) 

3.00pm: Concert Starts (1hr) 

PARKING 

London Road Car Park is the closest (See attached MAP). If that one fills up there are other car parks around St Albans, but please allow time to wander over!  Disabled parking: There are very limited spaces at the cathedral, but these can’t be booked for Sundays, so it’ll be a case of turning up and seeing what’s available I’m afraid.

I'm so sorry I couldn't get everyone into this one. We were hugely over subscribed, especially in the Mezzos and Sopranos so I'm very sorry for anyone I couldn't get in this time. The fairest way I could find to decide was 1) how long and 2) how consistent... your choir membership has been. Unfortunately it means if you joined choir in the last 18 months, or if you’ve taken a lot of months off, it’s less likely I could get you in this time. Men & Altos I've had a bit more wiggle room, so do check to see you if you're listed! If you need to drop out please let me know as soon as possible and I'll give your space to someone else!

Again, huge apologies to those of you who’ve missed out this time. I'll keep you posted if any spaces become available... and if we do it again next year then I’ll prioritise anyone who signed up but didn’t make the cut this time. I'll also make sure we have lots of other great events in December so there are plenty of other good times ahead. Paul xx
