Choir On The Green Membership
35 sessions per year minimum per choir. We don't currently follow exact term times, but dates for choir are listed on the website, so you can see when we're rehearsing. There's no obligation or expectancy to turn up, so you can work to your own schedule. Also if you can't make your usual rehearsal, you're welcome to switch between groups as they all sing the same repertoire.
Website access and music included, with scores, lyrics, practice tracks and guides all available to help you learn songs, improve your singing and expand your musical knowledge.
Social events throughout the year with activities ranging from parties, to workshops, meals out, theatre trips, boat trips, wine tasting, whisky tasting etc. These are considered part of your membership so not run for profit. Instead they're either included in your membership fee, or we ask for a small donation to cover costs / include charity donation.
Gigs and concerts all year round (included in your membership fee, so no extra cost), raising thousands of pounds for charity. We perform at a big range of venues and locations, from churches, to theatres, weddings, fetes, beer festivals and music festivals. All performances are optional. If you want to sing in bigger or smaller groups there'll be the opportunity at some point through the year. We also have our own Summer and Christmas Concerts which are hugely popular events in the local area, raising thousands for local charities.
Community: Possibly the best thing you get in Choir On The Green is a wonderful, caring, supportive community of all ages: For anyone feeling a bit isolated, or for people who've just moved to the area, we'll hopefully find you some lovely friends; For older members or people with extra needs, we'll all do our best to look out for you and give you whatever support you need (in and out of choir); If you're a busy working person who just wants a bit of extra fun and social life on your doorstep, you couldn't wish to meet a better group of people.
A Choir leader who will go above and beyond: Okay, I'll admit it, this is Paul writing this... Hey! Hopefully anyone who has been in choir a while will tell you, I give everything I can, in and out of choir. I can't promise I'll get everything right all the time, but I'll always do my best to make this the best community you could ever wish to be part of... and we usually end up sounding pretty great too!
